Indirect Tax Technology Manager

 

Description:

A prestigious global media and business information services company is seeking an Indirect Tax Technology Manager to join its team in a hybrid role based in London. The company spans five divisions and operates in over 70 countries with a workforce exceeding 25,000.

The ideal candidate will be an indirect tax professional with a strong interest in tax technology, ideally fluent in French, and with experience in multinational environments. You will work across various indirect tax software platforms, with a focus on supporting European compliance projects, optimizing indirect tax processes, and serving as a key technology liaison between internal stakeholders and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise on indirect tax to stakeholders across Europe.

  • Demonstrate and support implementation of indirect tax technology solutions, especially for complex cross-border transactions and supply chains.

  • Identify process inefficiencies and develop solutions to streamline compliance and reporting.

  • Manage multi-disciplinary tax technology projects and communicate complex tax issues to non-technical teams.

  • Deliver consistent methodologies and approaches for indirect tax management and compliance.

  • Advocate for tax technology adoption and manage demo environments for use case demonstrations.

  • Collaborate with commercial and marketing teams on white papers, webinars, conferences, and lead generation activities.

  • Liaise with product development teams to track industry trends and validate business cases for future tech enhancements.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven background as an indirect tax generalist with exposure to international operations.

  • Preferred fluency in French.

  • Trained in a Big 4 or Top 10 accounting firm; in-house corporate experience is a strong plus.

  • Strong IT and project management skills; analytical mindset with proficiency in spreadsheets.

  • Experience with ONESOURCE and/or ERP systems (ideally SAP) is highly desired.

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities in indirect tax systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with large, complex, multinational clients.
