Description:
The Information Governance Lead will serve as the primary point of contact for all information governance queries. This role is pivotal in ensuring individuals’ rights to access their personal data are upheld, and that Psicon complies with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
Principle duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Support Psicon’s Group Compliance Manager in delivering the annual Information Governance (IG) work plan, including working with Information Asset Owners (IAOs) to complete actions, review policies, and project-manage IG work streams.
- Process and manage data subject access requests, ensuring timely responses in line with legislative requirements.
- Oversee other data subject rights, including erasure, objection, rectification, restriction, and the right to be informed.
- Proactively identify and respond to risks or incidents that may compromise the confidentiality of staff and client information.
- Support investigations into breaches of confidentiality and contribute to resolution and reporting.
- Collaborate with the Complaints Team to manage responses to complaints and issues related to IG.
Person Specification
- In-depth understanding of the Data Protection Act 2018, GDPR, and practical experience applying these principles.
- Working knowledge of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
- Degree-level education in a relevant subject or equivalent qualification/experience in a specialist area.
- Extensive experience handling subject access requests and other individual rights requests.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven capability to identify and mitigate data protection risks.
