The Court of Protection (COP) Team is renowned for advising and assisting individuals, their families, carers, trustees, beneficiaries, and other professionals on complex issues arising from catastrophic personal injury, including serious brain injury with high-value compensation awards. The team works closely with the Court of Protection to manage both financial and welfare matters, including care funding, welfare benefits, deprivation of liberty, special education, and general capacity issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft routine and non-routine applications to the Court of Protection, including accompanying documentation and witness statements.

  • Assist senior team members with discrete tasks as required.

  • Prepare budgets for clients for financial advisers and the Court.

  • Arrange insurance policies for clients.

  • Review and authorize invoices for payment.

  • Liaise with Case Managers, clients, and their families.

  • Consult with senior team members on team policies and client matter management.
