Description:
M&G plc is seeking a dedicated and motivated Internal Auditor to join its Internal Audit function. This is an entry-level role designed for professionals with at least three years' experience in financial services or internal/external audit. The role will support the audit team in ensuring that internal control, risk, and governance frameworks remain effective while aligning with the company’s objectives.
This position provides a fantastic opportunity to develop core auditing skills, understand financial services operations, and engage in a collaborative work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning & Risk Assessment:
- Attend meetings with auditees to gain insight into business processes.
- Assist in identifying key risks and controls.
- Support in preparing audit planning documentation, including risk assessments and testing strategies.
- Maintain accurate audit records in TeamMate+.
Audit Performance:
- Conduct audit testing across various business areas.
- Travel to different sites when necessary to meet relevant staff and review documentation.
- Maintain high-quality audit files and working papers.
- Ensure compliance with Data Protection laws.
Audit Reporting:
- Discuss audit findings with the Field Manager and propose appropriate ratings for issues.
- Draft clear and well-structured audit observations.
- Support issue assurance processes and assist in tracking issue closures.
Business Partnering:
- Engage with stakeholders to discuss audit processes and results.
- Maintain professionalism and integrity to uphold the reputation of the Internal Audit function.
Team Management:
- Provide and receive constructive feedback.
- Develop a personal development plan with a mentor.
- Effectively manage workload and time to meet audit targets.
Audit Community Engagement:
- Actively participate in Internal Audit community initiatives.
- Seek professional growth opportunities through training and hands-on assignments.
- Support and guide new auditors when required.
