Description:
Our Internal Communications team acts as a trusted advisor to stakeholders across the business and provides advice from designing communications strategies for major change programmes, to delivering high-quality engagement initiatives.
You’ll be working as part of a global team of internal communications experts responsible for advising, developing and executing communications that support operational activities.
What You'll Do
- Strategy delivery: Support the Head of Internal Communications to execute the global internal communications strategy, ensuring all activity reflects Schroders’ values and business objectives.
- Planning and prioritisation: Develop and maintain the day-to-day internal communications plan and calendar, collaborating with business and functional stakeholders to focus messaging where it matters most.
- Channel management and content creation: Draft, edit and deliver high-quality content—such as articles, announcements, town hall materials and leadership Q&As—across digital and traditional channels, including Teams, the intranet, email and video.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across HR, Technology, the Transformation Office, and other business areas to deliver communications for priority events, including results days, business updates, and organisation-wide change initiatives.
- AI and innovation: Champion the adoption of new technologies, particularly AI-powered content tools and analytics, to improve communication reach, relevance, and personalisation. Proactively explore automation to drive engagement and measure impact.
- Insight-led improvement: Gather and interpret employee feedback, analytics, data and insights to continuously enhance the effectiveness and impact of internal communications.
- Stakeholder support: Assist the Head of Internal Communications and senior leaders in preparing for key internal engagements, from developing messaging to coordinating logistics.
- Best practice advisory: Advise stakeholders on effective internal communication strategies and escalate key risks or opportunities to the Head of Internal Communications.
The Knowledge, Experience And Qualifications You Need
This will be a full-time role. The successful candidate will be a confident and engaging communicator who demonstrates:
- Substantial experience (typically 5+ years) in internal communications, ideally within financial services or other regulated, complex organisations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a natural flair for translating complex information into engaging content
- Experience using digital communications platforms (intranet, Microsoft Teams, email broadcast tools, etc.); comfortable adopting new technologies and AI-driven solutions
- Analytical mindset, confident using data and insights to inform communications and demonstrate impact
- Ability to build trust and credibility with stakeholders at all levels; able to influence and advise with sensitivity and tact
- Strong organisational and time management skills, capable of balancing multiple priorities and deadlines, a real self-starter
- Creative, collaborative and proactive approach
- Calm under pressure, with strong juggling skills and ability to meet sharp deadlines
