Internal Communications Specialist

Description:

Bechtel Corporation, a global leader in infrastructure, energy, mining, and manufacturing projects, seeks an Internal Communications Specialist based in London to deliver engaging content and lead internal communication programs that connect employees worldwide. Reporting to the global head of communications and external affairs for Bechtel Infrastructure, this role collaborates closely with corporate affairs, senior business leaders, functional and project teams.

The role focuses on crafting creative, compelling storytelling content, managing internal campaigns and initiatives, curating internal communication channels, and supporting the business strategy through effective internal engagement. The specialist will also handle proofreading, copy-editing, and analysis of communication metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft and deliver senior leadership communications tailored to audiences

• Discover and share employee and project stories across internal channels

• Curate and update internal communication sites with engaging content

• Manage internal campaigns, including panel events and conferences

• Collaborate with functional managers and subject matter experts to create business strategy communications

• Proofread and copy-edit materials to ensure quality and compliance with company style and visual identity

• Develop and analyze communication effectiveness metrics

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent

• Exceptional writing and copy-editing skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (including SharePoint 2010+), Engage, Stream, and email content management systems like Proze

• Experience with podcast and video content creation advantageous

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Proven internal or corporate communications expertise with strong storytelling abilities

• Ability to simplify complex concepts into clear, engaging messages

• Strong judgment, discretion, and attention to detail

• Excellent interpersonal skills to engage global diverse teams and build relationships

• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively under deadlines

• Podcast and video content creation knowledge is a plus
