Internal Systems Support Engineer

RedTech Recruitment is seeking a skilled and motivated Information Technology Support Engineer to join a forward-thinking technology company. This role offers the opportunity to provide internal systems support across the UK and US, focusing on delivering high-quality IT solutions within a structured and process-driven environment. It is ideal for candidates with strong 1st and 2nd line IT support expertise and an interest in working with diverse infrastructure components, including servers, networks, cloud platforms, and mobile devices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver 1st and 2nd line IT support via the internal service desk to ensure smooth business operations.

• Assist senior staff with 3rd line support and contribute to technical projects.

• Install, configure, and maintain IT hardware, software, and networks across multiple sites.

• Manage incidents and service requests in line with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

• Liaise with suppliers for IT equipment procurement and service coordination.

• Maintain and contribute to the internal IT knowledge base and documentation.

• Participate in rota-based working patterns covering extended support hours.

• Join the on-call rota upon completion of training.

• Ensure compliance with internal processes, documentation, and ITIL frameworks.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong experience in a similar IT support position (1st/2nd line).

• Proficiency with Windows OS/server platforms, networking, VPNs, and mobile device management.

• Exposure to Linux, OS X, virtualization (e.g., VMware), Azure/AWS, and backup solutions.

• Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and process-driven environments.

• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent commercial experience.

• Microsoft certifications (MCP, MCSA, MCSE) are highly desirable.

• Full UK driving licence required.

• Eligibility to travel under the US Visa Waiver Program or possession of a US passport (in addition to UK work rights).
