Join Mercer as an Investment Consultant (DC Pensions) – Shape Retirement Outcomes for the Future

Mercer, a global leader in health, wealth, and career solutions, is actively seeking a DC Pensions Investment Consultant to join its dynamic UK team in Bristol. This hybrid full-time role is geared toward professionals with a passion for delivering strategic investment guidance to institutional clients, particularly in the Defined Contributions (DC) space.

This is a unique opportunity to work with large and complex clients, playing a central role in transforming employer retirement strategies while driving client value, optimizing investment performance, and making a real-world impact.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive investment advice to institutional clients, including the determination of objectives, establishing policy, selecting investment managers, and investment monitoring

  • Develop and assess tailored investment strategies for large and jumbo market clients

  • Maintain and grow client relationships, participate in industry events and seminars, and represent Mercer as a thought leader in DC consulting

  • Contribute to business development efforts by preparing RFP responses and presenting new business proposals

  • Stay visible in the DC marketplace through public speaking, publications, and active participation in professional societies

  • Oversee project timelines, budgets, and client requirements, while managing and mentoring support teams

  • Peer-review reports, incorporating client-specific details to ensure relevance and compliance


Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Professional qualifications such as IMC, CFA, FIA/FFA

  • Proven experience in Defined Contributions investment consultancy or a relevant leadership role

  • Solid understanding of DC pension market dynamics, investment products, and regulatory framework

  • Exceptional communication and client relationship management skills
