Description:
We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Desktop Support Technician within IT Services. We are looking for an individual with a good working knowledge of networked Microsoft Windows operating environment, standard applications and the use of laptops/mobile devices and their configuration. As part of the IT Operations team you will have excellent communication skills and be able to explain concepts in simple terms to users from non-technical backgrounds, as well as being able to use your initiative to problem solve.
Working mainly onsite you will be part of a small team providing second line IT support, remote and in person, and support several other services including central IT procurement, IT hardware deployments etc.
Experience using Incident management software
Good working knowledge of laptops / mobile devices and their configuration
Good working knowledge of a networked Microsoft Windows operating environment
Able to input data accurately to asset management and fault tracking software
Previous computer hardware and software technical experience
5 GCSE passes at grades C including Maths and English, equivalent educational qualification or relevant experience
