DC Thomson, a renowned UK media company, is offering an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic IT Helpdesk Analyst to join their IT department on a 12-month fixed-term contract. As an IT Helpdesk Analyst, you will be an integral part of a multi-skilled service support team responsible for providing first-line technical assistance to staff across the UK. You will triage incidents, manage service requests, support onboarding, and handle basic IT troubleshooting across software, hardware, and network issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a first point of contact for internal users seeking IT support
Create and manage support tickets with detailed documentation and updates
Provide basic troubleshooting for laptops, desktops, printers, and networks
Escalate more complex issues to senior helpdesk analysts
Offer friendly and effective support to ensure a positive user experience
Perform basic administrative tasks in Active Directory and Office 365 (e.g., creating accounts, password resets)
Publish help documentation and conduct training if required
Liaise with external vendors when issues cannot be resolved in-house
Requirements:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Basic knowledge of Active Directory and Office 365
Technical qualifications and prior IT experience are desirable but not mandatory
