DC Thomson, a renowned UK media company, is offering an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic IT Helpdesk Analyst to join their IT department on a 12-month fixed-term contract. As an IT Helpdesk Analyst, you will be an integral part of a multi-skilled service support team responsible for providing first-line technical assistance to staff across the UK. You will triage incidents, manage service requests, support onboarding, and handle basic IT troubleshooting across software, hardware, and network issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a first point of contact for internal users seeking IT support

  • Create and manage support tickets with detailed documentation and updates

  • Provide basic troubleshooting for laptops, desktops, printers, and networks

  • Escalate more complex issues to senior helpdesk analysts

  • Offer friendly and effective support to ensure a positive user experience

  • Perform basic administrative tasks in Active Directory and Office 365 (e.g., creating accounts, password resets)

  • Publish help documentation and conduct training if required

  • Liaise with external vendors when issues cannot be resolved in-house

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

  • Basic knowledge of Active Directory and Office 365

  • Technical qualifications and prior IT experience are desirable but not mandatory

Employment Type: Temporary – 12-month fixed-term contract (Full-time)
