It Infrastructure Manager

Description:

Digital Waffle is seeking a skilled IT Infrastructure Manager to lead and develop a high-performing IT team supporting over 300 users across multiple sites. The role involves driving strategic IT initiatives, managing infrastructure operations, and delivering impactful projects that shape the organisation's technology landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership & Collaboration: Lead, mentor, and develop IT professionals; foster a collaborative, service-focused culture; liaise with departments to understand IT needs; provide expertise in management meetings

• Infrastructure & Operations Management: Oversee daily IT operations, servers, operating systems, and network infrastructure; coordinate installations, upgrades, and maintenance; manage procurement and implementation of hardware/software; ensure system performance and reliability

• WAN Infrastructure & Security: Maintain WAN connectivity; implement security measures and address vulnerabilities proactively

• Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: Develop, maintain, and test DR and BCP procedures across sites

• Project Management: Lead large-scale infrastructure projects including deployments, upgrades, and migrations; ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget

• Budget & Vendor Management: Manage IT budgets; maintain strong vendor relationships ensuring SLA compliance

• Technology & Innovation: Stay current with technology trends; recommend and implement innovations to improve IT operations

Skills and Experience Required:

• Networking: CCNA-level knowledge, Cisco, Fortinet, Rukus, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls

• Hardware & Infrastructure: Servers, SAN/NAS storage, cabling, wireless networks, monitoring tools

• Microsoft Technologies: Windows Server (2012–2025), Exchange Online, Azure AD, Intune/JAMF, Office 365

• Virtualization & Cloud: VMware, Hyper-V, Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud

• Backup & DR: Veeam, replication/failover solutions

• Security & Compliance: Firewalls, endpoint protection, ISO 27001, GDPR, SIEM (Splunk, Sentinel)

• Operating Systems & Tools: Linux administration, PowerShell/Bash/Python scripting, ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, Fresh Service)

Certifications:

• Essential: MCSE, ITIL, CCNA or equivalent

• Desirable: CISSP or CompTIA Security+, ISO27001 experience, PRINCE2
