Description:

The IT Specialist will be responsible for the maintenance, improvement and hands on support of desktop systems, processes and training. It is expected that the role holder will develop a thorough understanding of the relevant business system(s) and associated business processes so that they can provide informed support and guidance to users of the system(s) and recommend and assess improvements to process efficiency and effectiveness. The role holder will be responsible for liaising with University Information Services and other Research Office experts for problem resolution and solution implementation where appropriate.

You will be responsible for resolving a broad range of IT service requests, being the first point of call within the team for technical issues you will ensure that end-user support requests are triaged, resolved or escalated as required.

Applicants will have practical experience of service delivery, ideally within an IT setting with demonstrable experience of IT systems competency. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, together with the ability to understand and explain technical information to non-specialists.

Educated to /HND, HNC, level 4/5 vocational qualifications or equivalent level of practical experience. You will have practical experience of service delivery, ideally within an IT setting with demonstrable experience of IT systems competency.
