It Support Technician

Spectrum IT Recruitment is hiring an Information Technology Support Technician for a hybrid role based in Fareham, UK. This is a full-time opportunity ideal for candidates with a passion for IT support, excellent communication skills, and a desire to build a solid foundation in a growing technology environment.

As part of a supportive IT team, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing first and second-line technical support to internal users. This includes troubleshooting hardware and software issues, assisting with installations and configurations, and maintaining IT systems to ensure smooth daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver efficient and professional technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.

• Respond to user issues via phone, email, or ticketing systems in a timely and courteous manner.

• Install, configure, and maintain IT hardware, operating systems, and software applications.

• Escalate complex issues to senior technicians or third-line support as required.

• Maintain asset records, user accounts, and system documentation accurately.

• Participate in ongoing IT projects and initiatives to improve support services and infrastructure.

Requirements:

• Some prior experience in an IT support or helpdesk role is preferred.

• Familiarity with Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office 365, and common IT tools.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.

• Good interpersonal skills and a customer-service-oriented mindset.

• Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft MCP, or similar are advantageous but not essential.
