It Support Technician

Utopian Professional Recruitment Ltd is proud to partner with an award-winning Financial Services organization in the recruitment of a full-time IT Support Technician based in the West End of Edinburgh. This is a permanent opportunity for a technically proficient and service-oriented professional to become a critical part of a compact and dynamic internal IT team.

The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for all IT-related matters across the business, assisting colleagues in person, over the phone, and via email. You’ll help maintain and enhance system functionality, support new users, and assist in ensuring technology operations align with the organization's continued growth and development.

This role is ideally suited for individuals passionate about IT service delivery, either with relevant experience or a graduate looking to kickstart a long-term career in IT support within a professional services environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Log and prioritise incoming IT support requests from staff.

• Deliver first-line technical support via phone, email, and in-person.

• Perform daily system checks and provide proactive IT updates.

• Maintain and update the internal IT knowledge base/intranet with tips and resources.

• Assist with user onboarding and offboarding (setting up profiles, removing access, etc.).

• Provide technical support for in-house presentations and video conferences.

• Carry out PC relocations, hardware setups, and minor troubleshooting.

• Support IT Manager on project implementation and rollouts.

Candidate Requirements:

Preferred Experience:

• Prior IT support experience in an office environment.

• Open to graduates with a passion for IT.

• Working knowledge of internal systems or back-office applications is advantageous.

Benefits & Rewards:

• Salary: £27,000 – £28,000 per annum

• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
  (Occasional Saturday work and travel to other UK sites; travel expenses covered)
