Java Software Engineer

A global investment firm is seeking an experienced Java Software Engineer to join a rapidly growing front-office eTrading team. This role sits at the heart of the trading floor, where technology is a key revenue driver, and offers the opportunity to design and build mission-critical trading applications used directly by traders and investment teams. The Role

As a Java Software Engineer, you will take a leading role in the design and development of high-performance front-office trading systems, contributing directly to the bank’s electronic trading and investment platforms.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing and developing high-performance Java applications from the ground up
• Building and enhancing front-office eTrading systems used in live markets
• Working closely with traders, product owners, and other front-office technology teams
• Applying best-in-class engineering standards, including clean architecture and TDD
• Contributing to technical leadership and driving engineering best practices across the team

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or a STEM discipline
• 4+ years’ experience in software engineering or a closely related role
• Strong expertise as a Java Software Engineer
• Proven experience working in a front-office environment
• Experience with modern development practices
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure front-office setting
