Key Account Manager

 

Description:

This role bridges the gap between customer needs and Arbil’s engineering and operations teams, providing great advice, excellent service & product support across trade, industrial, and project customers. To drive profitable growth of Arbil’s lifting equipment product range through proactive account management & new customer acquisition.

 

The Key Account Manager will also act as a digital ambassador for Arbil, leveraging LinkedIn and Sales Navigator to identify opportunities, build relationships, and raise brand visibility.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Manage a defined portfolio of trade, industrial, and project-based customers.
  • Develop new business opportunities within the lifting and material handling sector.
  • Maintain regular contact with key accounts through site visits, Teams calls, and structured reviews. Identify cross-sell opportunities (e.g. hire, service, sales, inspection) and customer relationship development.
  • Represent Arbil at industry exhibitions and customer events as required.
  • Provide first line technical & commercial Support
  • Interpret lifting equipment specifications, standards, and applications (BS EN, LOLER, etc.).
  • Advise customers on correct product selection, certification, and safe use.

 

Experience & Skills Required

 

Industry Knowledge

ESSENTIAL: Minimum 3 years’ experience in selling high-quality lifting equipment, hoists, rigging, hydraulics or associated sector (LOLER familiarity essential).

 

Sales Experience

Proven record of account management or technical sales, ideally B2B industrial/distribution environment.

 

Technical Ability

Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and certification documents.

 

Digital Sales Capability

Competent using LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, and CRM to identify and engage prospects. Communication Confident presenter and negotiator; capable of engaging from shop floor to director level.

 

Organisation Strong

CRM discipline; self-motivated with a structured approach to call planning follow-up & management reporting.

 

Qualifications

LEEA qualification desirable (or willingness to attain within 12 months). Full UK driving licence required.
