Allianz Commercial, in partnership with myGwork – the global LGBTQ+ business community, is seeking an Underwriting Business Analyst Lead – Large Corp & Specialty to join its London team. This is a key leadership role where you will play an instrumental part in analyzing, steering, and optimizing the underwriting portfolio of the Large Corp & Specialty division. The role provides the opportunity to contribute at both a strategic and operational level, ensuring robust KPI reporting, portfolio steering, natural catastrophe controlling, and supporting business growth initiatives.

As the Business Analyst Lead, you will work closely with the Director UK and Practice Leaders, offering actionable insights to support planning, budgeting, governance, and growth strategies. You will collaborate with global teams to align reporting, ensure accuracy of regional data, and provide comprehensive analysis that informs decision-making at the highest levels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze regional underwriting portfolios to support strategic decision-making for Line of Business (LoB) Heads.

• Prepare detailed reports for both internal leadership and external stakeholders.

• Support claims trend analysis to identify opportunities for improvement.

• Maintain and coordinate regional reporting frameworks including regular KPI monitoring and ensuring data accuracy.

• Partner with Global Performance Steering (GPS) teams to review LoB P&L, challenge assumptions, and validate results.

• Assist in identifying growth opportunities and creating targeted business development strategies.

• Conduct cost and expense analysis, supporting efficient expense management.

• Provide support for the Allianz Steering Cycle, including planning and portfolio reviews.

• Contribute to governance processes such as business reviews.

• Support capacity and capital steering processes, including CAT modeling and monitoring.

• Participate in and support strategic global/regional projects and initiatives.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• A degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Actuarial Science, or another relevant field.

• Proven experience in International Underwriting P&C Business, Finance, Actuarial, or Reinsurance.

• Strong technical and financial analysis skills in industrial underwriting cases.

• Ability to manage underwriting books, monitor investments, and conduct scenario planning.

• In-depth knowledge of risk exposures, including natural catastrophe hazards.

• Proven ability to work effectively in complex matrix and international business environments.

• Excellent communication, presentation, and intercultural collaboration skills.

• Agile mindset, proactive approach to learning, and problem-solving abilities.

• Fluent English is essential.

• Strong willingness to adopt and leverage AI-driven tools for business analysis.

Desirable Skills:

• Advanced actuarial or reinsurance knowledge.

• Familiarity with Allianz’s internal systems and performance frameworks.

• Broad knowledge of global insurance practices and risk modeling methodologies.
