Lead Pharmacist

Description:

Sanford Health, one of the largest not-for-profit health systems in the United States, is seeking a highly skilled Lead Pharmacist – 340B to join its Bemidji Medical Center team. This role is ideal for an experienced pharmacist with deep expertise in the 340B program, advanced clinical knowledge, and the ability to provide innovative solutions to complex challenges. The Lead Pharmacist will apply advanced technical and regulatory expertise while serving as a trusted resource to colleagues and leadership.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading pharmacy operations with emphasis on 340B program compliance, clinical excellence, and regulatory adherence.

• Guiding, training, and providing daily work direction to team members, ensuring quality and procedural standards are met.

• Handling complex and escalated clinical or operational issues, offering original and innovative solutions.

• Collaborating with clinical professionals, interdisciplinary teams, and leadership to develop department strategies, align operational objectives, and improve overall services.

• Designing, implementing, and evaluating new processes, policies, and tools to enhance efficiency and compliance.

• Monitoring department performance related to quality, cost, service, and regulatory standards, providing regular updates to leadership.

• Acting as a subject matter expert for 340B program operations and emerging regulations.

• Providing education, technical instruction, and operational guidance to clinical staff and interdepartmental teams.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy.

• At least 5 years of pharmacy experience preferred, with a strong knowledge of medications, clinical applications, and regulatory requirements.

• Must hold a valid pharmacist license in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy in the state of practice, with multi-state licensure privileges as applicable.

• Advanced certifications/licensures are encouraged and highly valued.
