Description:

Get Further, an award-winning educational charity dedicated to reducing educational inequality, is seeking a Lead Tutor to deliver Maths or English tuition to small groups of students (1–3 learners) while mentoring and supporting other tutors to uphold the charity's teaching quality and standards. The role is ideal for individuals passionate about education and leadership, offering both frontline teaching responsibilities and opportunities to shape the learning experience for students and peers.

As a Lead Tutor, you will primarily provide high-impact, in-person tuition using Get Further’s structured curriculum. Additionally, you will mentor Flex Tutors, assist in resource development, contribute to tutor training, and track student progress and attendance. This hybrid role blends teaching with educational leadership, providing valuable experience for future roles in education, program management, or nonprofit sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver weekly Maths or English tutoring sessions (80% of the role)

  • Coach and support Flex Tutors via peer mentoring and session observations

  • Participate in resource development and tutor training sessions

  • Monitor and record student attendance and academic progress

  • Represent and promote Get Further’s mission and values on-site

Ideal Candidate Will Demonstrate:

  • Passion for reducing educational inequality

  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills

  • Commitment to student success

  • Flexibility to work a minimum of 15 hours per week, with mandatory availability Fridays 11am–12pm

  • Willingness to travel to in-person sessions at Moulton College and possibly other locations
