Description:
Oxford Outcomes, part of the Outcomes First Group, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join its educational team at Crookhey Hall School, located in Cockerham, Lancaster. This is a term-time, full-time on-site position offering a rare opportunity to work in a dynamic, supportive environment while making a positive impact in the lives of young people.
About the School:
Crookhey Hall School is a Social and Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) institution that supports children aged 10 to 17 with behavioral and emotional challenges. Situated on a 15-acre countryside site, the school promotes academic, vocational, and social development through a holistic, student-centered approach. The mission is to unlock each pupil's full potential in a secure and supportive setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one learning support tailored to individual pupils’ educational and emotional needs
Assist teachers in developing and implementing individual education plans (IEPs)
Support and occasionally transport small student groups to offsite vocational courses and educational visits
Prepare learning materials and maintain necessary equipment
Uphold school values, adhere to safeguarding policies, and ensure student welfare at all times
Requirements:
Minimum qualifications: GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
A Full UK Driving Licence is essential due to the rural location and transport responsibilities
Flexibility to work both indoors and outdoors in a responsive, adaptable manner
Experience working with children in educational or SEMH environments is advantageous
Must pass enhanced DBS clearance, social media screening, and full safeguarding compliance checks
Working Hours:
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (8:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
Permanent, term-time only
After a 6-week probationary period, staff are eligible for a 4-Day Work Week Trial (work 4 days, paid for 5)
