Macclesfield College is seeking a passionate and experienced Lecturer & Programme Lead in A-Level to join their growing Social Science department. In this exciting new role, you will support the Centre Principal with the operational management of the department, take the strategic lead in your designated curriculum area (Social Sciences/Business), and teach an appropriate caseload within the A-Level curriculum.

This position is crucial to shaping the future of students, ensuring that they receive the best possible educational experience. The role involves not only teaching and leading but also managing staff within your department. You may be required to work some evenings and weekends to support college events such as interview evenings and parents' evenings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and Deliver Teaching: Plan, teach, and assess college programmes, ensuring a high standard of delivery and learner success.

• Quality Assurance: Assess learners' work formatively and summatively to ensure they meet the awarding body criteria. Ensure the achievement of internal and external audits.

• Management and Leadership: Take operational lead on curriculum areas, manage staff within your department, and provide leadership to your team.

• Use Resources Effectively: Ensure that learners benefit from positive learning outcomes and high professional standards by using resources effectively.

• Monitor Learner Assessments: Work with the MIS to monitor, amend, and maintain accurate learner data. Ensure assessments are evenly spread across the academic year and provide consistent feedback.

• Previous experience in a similar role, ideally in a Further Education environment.
