Legal Counsel

 

Description:

Bremont Watch Company, a renowned British luxury watch manufacturer, is seeking a Legal Counsel to provide hands-on, commercially focused legal support across the UK, US, Australia, and Hong Kong. This pivotal role offers a unique opportunity to shape the legal function, reduce reliance on external counsel, and develop scalable legal frameworks as Bremont continues its global expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including retail/distribution contracts, licensing agreements, influencer/ambassador deals, and supplier agreements.

  • Advise on commercial, corporate governance, intellectual property (IP), employment law, and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

  • Support international operations by working with local advisers to ensure compliance.

  • Develop and implement internal legal processes, compliance registers, standard templates, and training programs to enhance efficiency and reduce external legal costs.

  • Assist in brand protection, including trademark management and enforcement.

  • Provide guidance on marketing, e-commerce, and consumer law compliance.

  • Manage relationships with external legal providers where specialist expertise is required.

Candidate Profile:

  • UK-qualified solicitor with a minimum of 4 years PQE.

  • Experience in commercial law with a preference for candidates with in-house experience in manufacturing, retail, fashion, or consumer goods.

  • Strong commercial acumen with a pragmatic approach to legal risk.

  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, creative environment.

  • Excellent communication skills with a collaborative and approachable style.

Working Environment:

  • Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

  • Hybrid working (minimum 3 days in-office)

  • Probation period: 4 months

  • Notice period: 2 months
