Description:
Oracle is seeking a Senior Counsel for EMEA Health and Life Sciences to lead regulatory and legal strategies for healthcare and life sciences within the EMEA region, with a particular emphasis on the UK market. This role supports Oracle’s mission to improve patient outcomes, lower costs, and accelerate innovation while ensuring compliance with complex and evolving regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement health and life sciences regulatory strategies in the EMEA region, focusing on the UK.
Advise Oracle senior executives and product teams on healthcare regulatory requirements and policy initiatives.
Guide legal and regulatory compliance for software as a medical device, AI/ML applications, electronic health records, life sciences clinical research, and data privacy/security.
Support commercial transactions ensuring regulatory compliance and efficient execution.
Monitor and assess regulatory developments and their impact on Oracle Health and Life Sciences products and services.
Engage with regulatory bodies, agencies, and public policy initiatives to implement Oracle’s health strategies.
Develop corporate-wide regulatory frameworks to meet stringent healthcare and life sciences compliance requirements.
Promote patient safety culture across products and teams.
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, sales, consulting, compliance, security, and marketing teams to achieve regulatory objectives.
Maintain high credibility, independence, integrity, confidentiality, and trust.
Candidate Requirements:
Law degree (Bachelor of Law or equivalent) and advanced legal qualifications.
+8 years of relevant legal experience in healthcare or life sciences; +6 years in regulatory work.
Strong knowledge of UK and European healthcare technology and life sciences regulatory frameworks.
Expertise in Medical Devices / Medical Devices Software Regulation and AI/ML compliance in healthcare.
Exceptional writing, analysis, negotiation, and partnership skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with senior executives and external stakeholders.
Strong decision-making, project management, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to perform in a fast-paced, evolving business environment.
