The firm is seeking an experienced Legal Director to take a senior position within the London Corporate Insurance group. The role involves leading sophisticated transactions, managing key client relationships, and contributing to the strategic growth of the practice. You will work closely with partners across corporate, regulatory, commercial, and disputes teams, often on cross‑border mandates. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage complex insurance M&A, joint ventures, and corporate restructurings.
- Advise on portfolio transfers, including Part VII court‑sanctioned processes.
- Provide strategic guidance on UK and EU insurance regulatory matters, including PRA/FCA requirements, governance, and conduct issues.
- Act as a senior client contact, developing and maintaining long‑term relationships with major insurers, reinsurers, and intermediaries.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop junior lawyers within the team.
- Support business development initiatives, thought leadership, and client‑facing projects across the firm’s insurance platform.
- Collaborate with colleagues globally on multi‑disciplinary and cross‑border matters.
Experience
- Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with 7+ PQE in corporate or corporate insurance work.
- Strong experience advising insurers, reinsurers, brokers, MGAs, or other regulated financial services clients.
- Proven track record leading complex transactions and managing senior‑level client relationships.
- Excellent technical skills, commercial judgement, and the ability to deliver clear, pragmatic advice.
- Experience supervising junior lawyers and contributing to team leadership.
