Level Designer

Description:

This posting is for an experienced level design role on a spectacular, upcoming title.

The new IP requires a level designer to join a fantastic team of skilled individuals and help realize a rich, complex world. As the level designer, you would be responsible for creating functional, fun, and engaging spaces in a huge, open world.

The role will be contract based, with an initial opening of 6-12 months. Renewal / extension is very likely depending on output. The successful applicant would be working full-time and remotely, on a contractor basis.

Applicant requirements

At least 1 3D title shipped on current generation platforms / Windows PC

Broad and practiced knowledge of level design (flow, sign-posting, emergent narrative, visual language, etc…)

Strong skills in Unreal 4

Multiplayer design experience

Full game lifecycle experience

Role requirements

Working with the creative lead and design briefs to generate a polished and functional world

World building from low-level concept to completion

Liaising with and taking direction from the creative lead, art, and production teams

Establishing and maintaining practices for level implementation into the game engine

Generation and upkeep of level design documentation

Collaborating with QA / Production to provide any necessary fixes and maintain a bug tracking database

Ensuring the technical quality of all level design and the final products fun-factor

The perfect applicant

5+ years in industry

3D modelling / skinning / rigging ability in any mainstream softwares (3DS Max, Maya, blender)

Skill in Adobe Photoshop

Previously held a senior / lead role in the same field

Experience with / working knowledge of procedural tools such as Houdini

Experience with online multiplayer titles

Working knowledge of GitHub application and best practice

Understanding of usability practices and willingness to engage in usability exercises
