Lift Test Engineer

Otis is growing and is looking for a Lift Test Engineer to work within our New Equipment and Modernisation project department located in the Northeast of England.

Your priority is to ensure the highest standards of lift installation are maintained and all lifts meet the rigorous safety and operating standards prior to handover to our customers.

On a typical day you will: Test all new elevators once installed to ensure they meet the standards required, working with quality and efficiency. Work in a safe manner in accordance with all Environmental Health & Safety guidelines. Stay away overnight as and when required. Liaise directly with the customer while on site to build a good working relationship. Conduct inspection before and after installation to ensure high quality and safety standards

What you will need to be successful: As an NVQ4 testing qualified engineer, it is essential that you have extensive knowledge of elevator equipment and that you can apply elevator engineering principles to testing. You are qualified and have significant experience of installing elevators to the standards set in your country. You hold a driver's license. You have excellent electrical and mechanical skills. You are comfortable with plan reading and calculations. You have an appetite for technical products and new technologies. You are able to communicate effectively, internally and externally, with the confidence to have the courage of your convictions when assessing the suitability of putting an elevator into service.
