Description:

SSEN is looking for experienced Linespersons to join its Southern Electric Power Distribution team. The role involves construction, maintenance, and repair work on LV, HV, 11kV & 33kV networks. Linespersons will be responsible for maintaining safety, responding to emergency situations, and acting as ambassadors for SSEN’s strong safety culture. The position offers career development opportunities, progression within SSE authorisation levels, and exposure to a dynamic and sustainable energy industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Construct, repair, and operate electrical networks from LV up to 11/33kV

• Ensure personal and team safety, embedding the company’s safety culture

• Respond to emergency situations and short-notice work, including storm events

• Work outdoors in all weather conditions and undertake out-of-hours standby duties

• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain service quality and operational reliability

Key Skills and Experience:

• DNO industry experience in the UK or overseas

• Recognised qualifications in LV, HV, 11kV & 33kV; 11kV Live Line experience advantageous

• Proven track record in electrical construction, repair, and operation

• Strong communication skills and the ability to convey technical knowledge

• Flexible approach to out-of-hours duties and changing project priorities

• Full UK driving licence required
