Maintenance Engineer

Description:

High Tech Hire, a specialist staffing partner operating across the Fire & Security, Telecommunications, and IT sectors, is seeking a skilled Fire Service Engineer to join their growing team. This remote-based role in the Manchester area offers the opportunity to work across multiple sectors including domestic, commercial, industrial, healthcare, and government environments.

The position is ideal for a technically capable and customer-focused professional who can independently manage routine and reactive maintenance activities on Fire Alarm systems while delivering exceptional service. The role involves collaborating with clients, site teams, and internal colleagues to ensure safety, compliance, and quality at every step.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and carry out routine and reactive maintenance for Fire Alarm systems across a range of sites.

• Provide remote technical support for leading systems such as Gent, Kentec, Protec, C-Tec, Advanced, and similar.

• Deliver timely responses to service calls, ensuring adherence to industry standards and client SLAs.

• Communicate effectively with customers and on-site teams, ensuring clear updates and issue resolution.

• Collaborate with technical colleagues to maintain a consistent, high-quality level of service.

• Ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Service Engineer, ideally with knowledge of major control panel systems.

• Familiarity with Emergency Lighting, Extinguishers, Gas Suppression, and Warden Call Systems is advantageous.

• Strong diagnostic, organisational, and communication skills.

• Professional and customer-focused attitude with attention to detail.

• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites when necessary.

• Ability to work independently and remotely, managing workload efficiently.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary: £30,000 – £45,000 per annum (≈ £2,500 – £3,750 monthly), depending on experience.

• Overtime & travel time paid at 1.5x or 2x rate.
