Two exciting opportunities have arisen within the Bedford Borough Council finance team for CCAB/CIMA-qualified Management Accountants, due to internal promotions. Bedford Borough Council is one of the fastest growing unitary authorities, with an 18% increase in population in the last census. Bedford is about to embark on a new transformation journey to improve the lives of our residents, businesses and visitors: so it is an exciting time to join us.

Bedford’s Finance team has restructured to be a true partner to the service: driving decisions upfront to improve performance, including early involvement in the Adult Social Care International Recruitment fund and Bedford’s diverse capital programme, which includes road and rail upgrades and we have begun work on a £25 million Town Deal. We are now looking for motivated and enthusiastic finance professionals to be part of this

We are looking for two Management Accountants in total, one in each of:

• Environment Services
• Adult Service

While applicants must be CCAB or CIMA qualified to be eligible for the role, applications from newly qualified individuals are welcome. Local Government experience is desirable but not essential.
