The Successful Applicant

The successful candidates will have:

• Relevant experience in a financial role in a large, complex, devolved organisation
• Significant experience of working in an accounts preparation role with strong analytical skills and delivering an exceptional customer service to stakeholders
• A proven ability to manage, develop and motivate a professional team
• Excellent financial analysis and interpretive skills, with ability to grasp the detail, whilst retaining the 'big picture'
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and influence senior colleagues (both academic and PS) at all levels, including those without financial expertise
• Excellent organisational skills and a willingness to work flexibly; working well within a team and under own initiative
• Proven ability to challenge the status quo, make positive, effective changes and implement continuous improvement
• A demonstrable commitment to the mission and values of The University of Manchester and an understanding of the transformational impact of education.
