Description:
Next, a FTSE-100 retail powerhouse employing over 35,000 professionals across the UK and Ireland, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Vulnerability Management Engineer to join its dynamic Information Security team based in Pontefract.
In this role, you will play a pivotal part in safeguarding Next’s extensive technology estate, with a strong focus on Warehouse systems and Operational Technology environments. You will lead efforts to identify, assess, validate, and communicate vulnerabilities, ensuring the organization remains resilient against evolving cyber threats.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the company’s security posture, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate across teams to ensure continuous improvement in vulnerability and threat management.
Manage and maintain vulnerability scanning and reporting tools, ensuring accurate detection and remediation tracking.
Lead the assessment, validation, and prioritization of vulnerabilities across systems and infrastructure.
Work closely with IT and Engineering teams to develop and implement mitigation strategies for identified risks.
Oversee Bug Bounty programs, vulnerability disclosures, and testing initiatives.
Conduct threat intelligence analysis, leveraging frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK to assess risks and develop countermeasures.
Produce comprehensive reports summarizing vulnerabilities, trends, and remediation progress for both technical and executive stakeholders.
Coordinate and oversee remediation efforts during significant security events or major vulnerabilities.
Collaborate with the Incident Response team during active investigations to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
Develop and maintain documentation, operational procedures, and vulnerability management standards.
Mentor and guide junior members of the Vulnerability Management team, promoting best practices and technical excellence.
Deep understanding of Information Security, malware, emerging threats, and vulnerability management.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with an inquisitive, proactive mindset.
Ability to coordinate complex issues, prioritize tasks, and deliver within deadlines.
Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting with both technical and senior stakeholders.
