Description:

PA Consulting is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Managing Consultant to join its Public Sector Architecture practice. In this senior-level role, you will provide strategic architectural leadership across key government transformation projects. This position offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to public service delivery while developing cutting-edge, scalable, and resilient IT architectures.

You will operate at the intersection of technology and governance, collaborating with high-level stakeholders and delivery teams to define solutions that improve government operations and citizen experiences. As a senior member of the team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping technology direction and mentoring cross-functional teams while navigating complex digital transformation initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead architecture and development teams within large-scale public sector engagements.

  • Design and deliver innovative business and technology solutions with strategic value.

  • Engage with stakeholders across government departments to understand needs and deliver impactful IT strategies.

  • Provide technical leadership across architecture domains (application, integration, business).

  • Guide architectural direction and decision-making using best-in-class methodologies and frameworks.

  • Drive architecture roadmaps, solution option assessments, product selections, and implementation strategies.

  • Support consultancy growth through business development and thought leadership.

  • Mentor and develop junior team members and foster a culture of continuous learning.


Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within consultancy or systems integration.

  • Deep expertise across multiple architecture domains; specialization in at least one (e.g., application, business, integration).

  • Strong public sector and central government experience.

  • Proficiency in architecture tools and frameworks (e.g., UML, ArchiMate).

  • Familiarity with both traditional and emerging technologies such as:

    • Microservices and packaged software solutions

    • On-premise vs. cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP)

    • Digital transformation frameworks and agile delivery models

    • Technologies from vendors like IBM, Oracle, Salesforce, AWS

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technology into business value.
