Maritime Engineer

G2 Recruitment, on behalf of a well-established global client, is seeking a highly experienced Maritime Engineer to join their team in either Scotland or Ascot. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional with a proven track record in ports, harbours, and maritime infrastructure design to contribute to impactful projects across the UK.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design and engineering of port facilities, ferry terminals, and other maritime structures, ensuring projects meet industry standards and client expectations. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and apply your expertise in structural and maritime engineering to deliver innovative and practical solutions. This role is suited for professionals with extensive technical knowledge and leadership capabilities who are looking to contribute to large-scale maritime and civil engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Leading design and engineering work on ports, harbours, and ferry terminal facilities.

• Delivering project design work for a range of maritime vessels and infrastructure.

• Utilizing a wide variety of structural engineering software for project delivery.

• Collaborating with project teams to ensure solutions are practical, safe, and aligned with client requirements.

• Providing technical guidance and mentorship within project teams.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Maritime Engineer (ideally 10–15 years).

• Strong background in ports and harbours design.

• Demonstrated experience in structural design for maritime facilities.

• Proficiency with a variety of structural analysis and design software tools.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

• Experience in geotechnical project design.

• Broader structural engineering background.

• Previous involvement in oil and gas projects.

Contract Type:

• The client is open to both permanent and contract-based positions, offering flexibility depending on candidate preference.
