Mechanical Design Engineer

FINTEC recruit is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for our successful and established engineering client based in Caithness and Sutherland. This is a permanent position with negotiable depending on experience, plus benefits and relocation allowance/assistance if relevant. Working Monday to Friday early finish on Fridays . You will be involved in developing mechanical systems and drawings, mixed design in plastics/metals and designing electronic enclosures. Degree qualified with ideally 2+ years experience. However graduate applications will be considered.

Responsibilities:

• Developing mechanical systems and drawings
• Producing design solutions to meet design of maintenance requirements for products
• Ensure designs are correctly transformed into engineering drawings, Bills of Materials, test procedures
• Ensure manufacturability of design, incorporating Engineering Change Control
• Contribute to product improvement
• Writing reports and providing specifications, drawings and relevant project documentation
• Perform engineering calculations to support design work

Skills and Experience required for the Mechanical Design Engineer role:=

• Educated to degree level or relevant experience within the Engineering, Renewables, Aerospace, Defence, Energy and / or Environmental sectors.
• An interest in mechanical assemblies, and manufacturing techniques with knowledge of vacuum forming / injection moulding and the materials used.
• Technically minded and able to demonstrate numerical and scientific ability and have problem solving skills
• Practical experience in Solidworks or similar CAD software
