Seabrook House, a forward-thinking mental health service provider in Exeter, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Mental Health Manager to lead their dynamic care team. This full-time, on-site leadership role offers an exciting opportunity for professionals passionate about mental health to make a tangible impact in the lives of service users.
As the Mental Health Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the mental health services, managing a multidisciplinary team, ensuring regulatory compliance, and contributing to the strategic growth and development of services. You will play a pivotal role in shaping care delivery, implementing service improvements, and liaising with NHS and community partners to ensure seamless support for individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and operational oversight of mental health services in Exeter and surrounding regions.
Supervise, mentor, and support a team of clinicians and support staff to deliver person-centred care.
Ensure that services comply with national standards, safeguarding regulations, and clinical governance protocols.
Collaborate with commissioning bodies, NHS representatives, and external community stakeholders to maintain integrated care delivery.
Prepare and present service performance reports to the senior leadership team.
Design and execute continuous service improvement initiatives and ensure consistent quality of care.
Essential Requirements:
A relevant degree in psychology, mental health nursing, social work, counselling, or a related discipline.
At least 3 years of experience in a senior or management-level position within mental health services.
In-depth understanding of mental health legislation, safeguarding procedures, and best practices.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams effectively.
Strong organizational, decision-making, and communication abilities.
Desirable Qualifications:
Prior experience within community-based or voluntary sector mental health services.
Registration with a professional body such as BACP, HCPC, or NMC.
Experience working within NHS commissioning frameworks or collaborative health environments.
