BE Church is a Christ-centered, intergenerational community in Leeds focused on worship, discipleship, and service. The church serves a diverse community, including students, families, professionals, and newcomers. They emphasize biblical teaching, authentic relationships, and spiritual formation with active ministries for kids, youth, and adults.

Position Summary:
The Ministry Assistant role supports pastoral and administrative functions while actively leading youth and outreach ministries. Ideal for those pursuing theological training or wanting practical ministry experience. The role involves collaboration with pastors, leaders, and volunteers to strengthen youth discipleship and build connections with university students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support ministries for children and youth (Year 5 to Year 8)

  • Adapt to cultural changes and language barriers for spiritual growth

  • Develop and implement welcoming programs and provide pastoral care/mentorship

  • Collaborate with pastors and trustees on strategic planning

  • Support church events, camps, workshops, outreach, and Sunday service operations

  • Assist in creating a new faith-based student society at Leeds University Union

  • Organize events, Bible studies, and discipleship for university students

  • Provide administrative and pastoral support to church leadership

  • Assist in funding applications for ministry projects

  • Manage record-keeping, communication, and ministry coordination

  • Ensure compliance with church policies, GDPR, safeguarding

  • Maintain and update church website and manage social media presence

  • Oversee church’s Google Workspace including emails, calendar, and shared files

Qualifications:

  • Committed Christian with passion for ministry

  • Experience with children, youth, or university students

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills

  • Effective communication across cultural/language barriers

  • Team player working well with church leadership

  • Experience managing website and social media

  • Familiarity with Google Workspace tools

  • Fluent in English and Cantonese; additional languages a plus

Work Schedule & Conditions:

  • Full-time (30 hrs/week) or part-time (24 hrs/week)

  • Suitable for those preparing for theological studies

  • Availability for occasional weekends and evenings required
