Description:
Neuberger Berman is seeking a skilled and driven Trader with at least three years of experience in market execution to join its Multi-Asset and Risk-Balanced investment teams. This position plays a critical role in supporting portfolio construction and execution in a dynamic, hedge fund-like environment. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in managing trades across a diverse array of asset classes including equities, fixed income, commodities, and currencies.
The trader will collaborate with senior portfolio managers to ensure precise and efficient execution of derivative transactions and serve as a vital conduit of market intelligence, including real-time market developments and research insights. This individual will also support trade strategy refinement, performance analytics, and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Trade Execution:
Execute and manage derivative trades across equities, fixed income, commodities, and currency markets.
Ensure trades are aligned with portfolio goals and risk tolerances.
Collaborate closely with portfolio managers to craft and optimize execution strategies.
Serve as a central contact for trade-related questions and issues.
Conduct pre- and post-trade analytics; manage reconciliation with precision and compliance.
Market Intelligence & Communication:
Build and maintain relationships with external brokers and counterparties to collect timely market color.
Provide portfolio managers with relevant macroeconomic updates, trading insights, and research interpretations.
Monitor market-moving news, economic indicators, and geopolitical events to assess risk and generate actionable intelligence.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field; MBA or advanced certification (e.g., CFA) preferred.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in trade execution across multiple asset classes.
Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-pressure trading environment.
Deep understanding of derivative instruments and cross-asset trade mechanics.
Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and risk awareness, with a commitment to operational excellence and compliance.
Demonstrated capacity for identifying and implementing workflow improvements.
