Network Support Engineer

83zero is hiring a Network Support Engineer to join their fast-paced operations team in London. This permanent role follows a 24/7 rotating shift pattern (2 Days – 7am–7pm, 2 Nights – 7pm–7am, followed by 4 Days Off) and offers an excellent opportunity to support enterprise-grade networking environments across diverse industries.

This position suits technically proficient engineers with excellent troubleshooting capabilities and strong communication skills who want to expand their knowledge across an advanced and varied network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical faults across various networking technologies and vendors

• Handle support tickets, incidents, and change requests professionally and efficiently

• Maintain accurate documentation using OSS tools, Visio, and technical write-ups

• Collaborate with 3rd line engineers and other internal teams for complex escalations

• Assist in the configuration and implementation of new network solutions

• Deliver consistent and professional communication to clients throughout issue resolution

Technical Environment:

Work across a broad and modern stack including:

• Switching: Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, HP, Dell, Juniper

• Wireless: Cisco, Meraki, Aruba

• Security: Palo Alto, Prisma, Fortinet, Cisco ASA

• SD-WAN: Citrix, Viptela, Meraki, Fortinet, Nuage

• Other: Cisco ISE, DNAC, DOT1x, Nexus 7K/5K/2K

Required Skills & Experience:

• Technical understanding at CCNA R&S or JNCIS-ENT level

• Proficient in Layer 2 protocols (STP, Dot1Q, QinQ, VPLS) and Layer 3 protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, HSRP, VRRP)

• Excellent communication skills – both written and spoken

• Customer-focused with a proactive and professional demeanor

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within shift-based teams

• Eagerness to take ownership and continuously develop technical capabilities

Desirable (Nice to Have):

• Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, or JNCIS

• Experience with Unix/Linux systems and scripting languages (Python, Bash)

• Exposure to Juniper SRX/EX, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or Cisco ASA firewalls

• Familiarity with Alcatel SR & ESS

• Skilled in using diagnostic tools like Wireshark
