Mowden Hall School is offering an exciting leadership opportunity for a passionate and experienced early years professional to join as Nursery Manager at their brand-new early childhood setting named “The Nest”, catering to children aged 2 to 3 years. This is a pivotal role for someone looking to shape the vision and daily operations of a high-quality early years environment.

As the Nursery Manager, you will be responsible for developing and leading a dynamic, child-centred learning environment that aligns with Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) principles. You will plan and deliver a well-structured, stimulating curriculum that nurtures every child’s curiosity and development while ensuring a strong focus on safeguarding and inclusion.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the setup, daily operations, and ongoing development of “The Nest” for 2 to 3-year-olds.

  • Plan and implement a curriculum that is engaging, age-appropriate, and meets EYFS standards.

  • Create a warm, safe, inclusive, and stimulating atmosphere for young children to thrive in.

  • Manage, support, and inspire a small team of nursery staff, promoting professional growth and high standards of care and education.

  • Delegate tasks efficiently while keeping the team informed about new initiatives, educational trends, and best practices in early years teaching.

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with parents, keeping them involved and informed in their children’s learning journeys.

  • Maintain compliance with statutory requirements and ensure best practices in Safeguarding, Health & Safety, and Inclusion are strictly followed.

  • Oversee daily routines, including meal times, sleep schedules, and structured play, maintaining a balanced approach to children’s physical and emotional development.


Candidate Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 qualification in Childcare (or higher) is essential.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience within an early years or nursery setting.

  • Deep understanding of early childhood development, safeguarding protocols, and EYFS curriculum.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially with young children and parents.

  • Strong organisational and delegation abilities.

  • Commitment to delivering outstanding care and education in line with Mowden Hall School’s values.


Working Hours & Benefits:

  • Nursery hours of operation: 7:30am – 6:00pm

  • Open 50 weeks per year
