Operational Controller

Description:

We are looking for an Operational Controller to join our Finance and Control Team here at DB Cargo UK. The role will support the team for the preparation of financial analysis and guidance t support decision making within the Sales and Production Function.

The role offers hybrid working between the successful candidates home residence and DB Cargo UK's headquarters at Doncaster Lakeside.

What will you be doing?

Here are some of the responsibilities that the successful candidate will have on a day to day basis:

Effective Business Partnering with both Account Managers & Contract Delivery Managers, in order to ensure that financial targets are achieved.

Support the integrity of the financial and internal control environment.

Provision of relevant financial analysis, in order to support decision making on profitability & effective cost control.

Highlight adverse variances to functional management and recommend actions.

Develop a greater financial awareness and understanding within functional Sales & Production Management Teams.

Support the delivery of the Mid Term Planning process (MTP) for Industrial Sales account managers and Production managers.

Preparation of month end reports, commentaries and reporting packs, to demonstrate an understanding of the cause of variances

Support the continuous improvement of Flow Profitability reporting and analysis.

Support the completion of internal audit work on drivers, groundstaff and inventory.

What are we looking for?

The successful candidate will have the qualified, or be part qualified ACCA or CIMA.

We are also looking for a candidate who can demonstrate strong communication skills in both written and verbal formats.

Due to the nature of the position the successful candidate will need to be highly analytical with a focus on improving financial statements.

The candidate must be flexible and enthusiastic and able to work well within a team.
