Operations Intern

The UK Change team are a dynamic group of change professionals who are responsible for the delivery of business and technology change for the UK business. We work closely with all areas of the Hiscox UK business to deliver technology, regulatory, process and people change in order to achieve tangible business benefits.

The internship

Working in UK Change, you’ll be part of a team that supports Hiscox UK’s business strategy through implementing change across our distribution channels and product lines. The improvements these changes deliver contribute to cementing our position as a market leading specialist insurer.

You will have the opportunity to work as part of a project team, providing exposure to the many facets of how the Hiscox UK business operates now and influencing how it will operate in the future. During this time you will develop your skills in project management and business analysis, as well as commercial awareness.

Examples of activities include:

• Working with both our customer facing and IT teams to identify opportunities and subsequent solutions for business process and system improvement
• Fulfil some project management and business analysis activities on small to medium projects, working in conjunction with other change professionals as part of the project team
• Data analysis to identify trends and enable business leaders to make quick and informed decisions based on your analysis

As a business, we have adopted hybrid working, where we have a combination of time in the office and at home. In this role you can expect to be in the office approx. 2-3 days per week.

What is needed to excel in this opportunity?

• You’ll be proactive, logical and analytical – someone who challenges the status quo
• Possess strong written and verbal communication skills to build and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Have an ability to analyse data/information and explain the results clearly and succinctly
• Be computer literate, with an advanced understanding of Excel and an interest in systems
• Be able to work efficiently under pressure, both on your own and as part of a team, delivering accurate results to strict deadlines
• Be determined to succeed in a fast paced environment and have a willingness to learn about and understand the business.
