Description:
The Operations Manager will oversee all building, training, and operational activities at the Bristow Rescue Hoist Training Centre, supporting UK SAR, Ireland SAR, Netherlands SAR, and other Bristow Group SAR and Government Services training requirements. This role ensures maximum facility usage, compliance with safety and operational standards, and effective management of staff, contractors, and third-party vendors. The Operations Manager will strategically schedule training programs to meet Air Operator Certificate (AOC) requirements while optimizing operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee facility preventative maintenance, repairs, and statutory compliance
Strategically manage complex training schedules and prioritize training programs
Order, maintain, and utilize capital equipment effectively
Manage building and grounds maintenance, ensuring all facilities and equipment meet operational standards
Identify and implement cost-effective training synergies across all AOCs
Standardize costs and vendors, develop and implement strategic project plans
Ensure company-owned vehicles are DVLA compliant and safely maintained
Optimize space management and layouts for effective facility usage
Liaise with clients, third-party agencies (Police, MoD) and contractors to maximize training opportunities
Respond immediately to urgent issues or emergencies
Supervise, train, and evaluate training centre personnel
Promote company safety culture and ensure well-being of all stakeholders
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
SAR TC management or senior training role and/or BSc/BA in Management, Aviation, or Business Administration
Previous SAR TC attestation advantageous
Proficiency in English (spoken and written, level C1-C2)
Crane operator certificate desirable
