Description:

Fresh Youth Mentoring MK is a local charity in Milton Keynes that collaborates with schools, agencies, businesses, community groups and voluntary organisations to support young people under 25 who may be struggling socially or experiencing disadvantage. We provide one-to-one mentoring and empowerment sessions, volunteering and skills development opportunities including coaching to young people with a focus on those from the black and minority ethnic communities although not exclusively. Our organisation is dedicated to working to reduce exclusions and antisocial behaviours and to prevent criminal behaviours amongst our young populations in Milton Keynes.

The Business Development and Operations Manager is responsible day to day operations and growth of the youth programme. They will work to develop and implement strategies that increase revenue, enhance operational efficiency, and improve beneficiaries and sponsors' satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement business development strategies that drive funding growth, opportunities, and a sustainable operating model.
  • Analyse youth service trends and identify new service opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with partners.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Manage and optimise charity resources to ensure efficiency and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with partner organisations to drive community cohesion and social impact.
  • Manage the budget and financial performance of the programme.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Build, lead and mentor a team of administrators and volunteers.
  • Develop and maintain a positive team culture and work environment.
  • Maintain schedules of all FYMK activities, calendars, and coordination of meetings for the group mentoring, school assemblies, and key progress meetings with partner organisations.
  • Coordinate the Mentors’ and Mentees’ events and programmes.
  • Arrange and schedule training and onboarding for new mentors, liaise with trainers and communicate training schedule and requirements to learners.
  • Reminders of deadlines to mentors, mentees, partners and directors.
  • Create and circulate monthly communication newsletters for FYMK.

Project Management: The ability to plan, budget and deliver to ensure that they are completed on time and within budget.

Stakeholder Engagement: The ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, including donors, volunteers, staff, and the community, to ensure that the charity's mission is understood and supported.

Fundraising: The ability to develop and implement fundraising strategies to secure financial support for the charity's programmes and services.

Marketing and Communications: The ability to develop and implement marketing and communications strategies to raise awareness of the charity's mission and impact.

Leadership and Management: The ability to build, lead and manage teams, including hiring, training, and performance management, to ensure that staff are engaged, motivated, and effective in achieving the charity's goals.

Program Development and Implementation: The ability to develop and implement programs and services that align with the charity's mission and meet the needs of its beneficiaries.

Monitoring and Evaluation: The ability to develop and implement systems for monitoring and evaluating the charity's programs and services to ensure that they are effective and achieve their intended outcomes.
