Description:

The Architecture and Technology Group (ATG) defines and publishes CPU and System architecture specifications used by the global tech ecosystem to develop the products of today and tomorrow - from micro-controllers to supercomputers, from autonomous vehicles to IoT nodes to the cloud - can you help that team to be its best, and meet new challenges?

Responsibilities

You will collaborate with other members of the Operations team, including project management, to support and enhance the work of ATG.

To support this, you will

  • Ensure that our operational infrastructure is available and fit for purpose – this will involve hands-on contribution to our portfolio management tooling, and engaging with others to make improvements
  • Support our release/delivery processes, including assisting others with tooling and workflow
  • Continually look for further opportunities to streamline the tooling and processes that ATG uses
  • Understand and support ATG Trade Compliance requirements and obligations, and legal aspects of collaboration with partners, ensuring that ATG is able to make effective progress
  • Assist with day-to-day operational support of the Group, with a particular focus on the System Architecture team
  • Be the point of contact for ATG with the IT department for general service matters

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Hands-on experience of working among technical development teams
  • Familiarity with one or more scripting languages – for example Python, Javascript or Perl - to contribute to the ongoing improvement and maintenance of ATG tooling
  • Methodical and organised, responsive and able to multi-task (mixing progress on larger tasks with timely response to requests for more ad-hoc help)
  • Ability to work across the organisation to understand and influence others to deliver desired outcomes
  • Ability to respond to short notice and potentially ambiguous information requirements, requiring analysis of data potentially across multiple systems, and providing concise and clear reporting
  • Ability to assess how people, processes and systems are interacting, and propose improvements
  • Put the Group first – be the person that others come to for help and advice
  • Ability to travel is required in order to visit colleagues at other Arm sites – potentially once or twice per year

‘Nice to Have’ Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with trade compliance/export control matters
  • Familiarity with web application development using SQL, HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Familiarity with customisation of tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Sharepoint
  • A good technical degree is desirable for this role
