Description:
This critical role will underpin the growth of our think tank as we enter our second year. It is a rare opportunity for a multi-talented, early-career professional to add significant value while apprenticing in a number of areas. There are progression opportunities on both the research side (eventually becoming a program manager for a stream of our work) or the operations side (eventually becoming the operations lead for the organization), depending on your capabilities and ambitions.
You will play a pivotal role in our mission-driven team by managing various aspects of our operations, including legal compliance, financial accounts, knowledge management, contracts, and payments. You will also play a key role in managing team meetings, such as scheduling and preparing agendas, taking comprehensive notes, and ensuring follow-up on action points, as well as efficiently managing the calendar of one of our co-founders. Additionally, you will support our research programmes by producing insights and drafting reports and proposals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Operations:
- Manage and maintain the organization's accounts, ensuring that expenditure and revenue are accurately organized and reconciled according to GN's accounting policy.
- Ensure timely and accurate payments to team members and vendors in accordance with established procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all legal obligations for Global Nation.
- Support Global Nation with the creation of our 501C3 entity in the USA
- Oversee contract creation, review, and enforcement processes to ensure compliance and successful partnerships.
- Establish and develop efficient knowledge management systems to maintain the organization's knowledge and facilitate easy access to information.
2. Administration:
- Schedule and coordinate team meetings, ensuring all participants are well-informed and prepared.
- Prepare detailed agendas for team meetings, outlining topics for discussion and desired outcomes.
- Take comprehensive meeting notes and action points, ensuring clear documentation for follow-up and strategy implementation.
- Efficiently manage the calendar of one cofounder, checking for scheduling conflicts.
- Coordinate and organize meetings with external agents and stakeholders.
3. Research:
- Conduct research through desk work and interviews in response to the needs of specific initiatives, including developing new programs and identifying funding opportunities
- Draft analysis reports and proposals to donors on the basis of your research

Requirements:

- 1-3 years of work experience (including internships)
- Bachelor's degree or higher, with an exceptional academic track record
- Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to work with numbers
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proactive, responsive, and collaborative work style, anticipating potential areas of support that might be needed
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and perform well in a growing and entrepreneurial organization
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
