Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a front facing Technical Support Manager with experience of operating anaerobic digestion plants to work primarily for two of the associations we manage, the WBA & ADBA. Both organisations’ aim is to facilitate a high performing operating industry by promoting AD best-practice & R&D, lobbying for government support and driving greater industry investment. To expedite this, ADBA has developed several initiatives, including the Anaerobic Digestion Certification Scheme (ADCS) – the UK’s first, independently audited plant accreditation scheme designed specifically for the AD industry, which the WBA now plans to develop into a global scheme.

For ADBA your role would include encouraging and assisting new & existing AD plant operators to take better advantage of its membership services & support them by providing technical support targeted at improving performance & ensuring a high level of member recruitment & retention. On the global stage, your role will be to lead on the development of ADCS into a globally applicable scheme & also lead on the development of other strategic initiatives which form part of the WBA’s “making biogas happen” programme to support operators globally.

We are looking for a confident AD operator with relevant technical & project management experience who has the depth of experience necessary to engage with AD plant operators to support them & help them take advantage of ADBA’s and WBA's services. This role will require a proactive individual who is comfortable working in a customer facing environment and capable of delivering in both an office environment and autonomously.

What will I be doing?

· Meeting and engaging with AD operators throughout the UK and globally to ensure a clear understanding of the key issues affecting them and feeding this back to the associations and regulators.

· Developing and implementing an effective membership engagement plan for ADBA and WBA.

· Reviewing and clarifying the value proposition for ADBA and WBA membership for AD operators, developing and forwarding proposals where appropriate to offer new services that will address operator issues & ensure there are clear benefits to be gained from operator membership.

· Lead on government policy development and regulatory consultations and coordinate the responses of operators to provide consultation feedback on the AD industry in the UK.

· Supporting the sales & marketing teams to develop and implement a membership recruitment plan for operators to meet sales targets.

· Represent the associations at both internal and external events.

· Anaerobic Digestion Certification Scheme (ADCS): Working closely with accrediting bodies & supporting operators to understand the ADCS (and other compliance requirements) e.g. how to register and apply, and assisting operators through the compliance processes.

· Engaging with regulators, insurers, and investors to encourage their support of the industry & initiatives such as the ADCS.

· Leading the development of ADBA’s & WBA's “making biogas happen” initiatives & programmes.
