Oliver James is seeking an experienced Optimisation Consultant to join its rapidly expanding Banking Operations & Domain Solutions team within a prestigious global consultancy firm. This is an opportunity to lead high-impact engagements with top-tier banking clients, shape strategic direction, and influence the future of banking operations in the UK.

In this role, you will lead and deliver complex optimisation and transformation programmes, acting as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor in the financial services sector. You will take ownership of major projects, ensuring excellence in delivery and introducing innovative approaches to client challenges. The position involves building strong client relationships, spearheading proposition development, engaging in marketing and thought leadership activities, and fostering a culture of high performance, inclusion, and continuous learning within the team.

You will also play a pivotal role in business development, including bid preparation, pre-sales support, and client presentations, as well as talent development, supporting recruitment, coaching, and capability building.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and deliver high-value optimisation and transformation programmes for leading banking clients.

• Serve as a trusted advisor, providing strategic guidance and innovative solutions.

• Oversee Target Operating Model design, digital transformation initiatives, and automation strategies using AI and RPA.

• Manage platform migrations, system integrations, process re-engineering, and cost optimisation.

• Drive business growth through proposition development, marketing, and thought leadership.

• Inspire and mentor high-performing teams, promoting a collaborative and learning-focused environment.

• Support client acquisition efforts through bids, RFP responses, and networking.

Desirable Skills & Knowledge:

• Experience with large-scale financial services integration or migration projects.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies in FS transformation.

• Proven track record in winning consulting bids and developing strong industry connections.

• Strong data analysis capabilities and user-centred design approach informed by research and customer experience insights.
