Description:

Specsavers Stockport is seeking a dedicated and qualified Optometrist to join its on-site team in a full-time capacity. As a part of a trusted and established name in eye care, you will play a vital role in delivering expert optical services to a broad customer base.

The Optometrist will be responsible for conducting comprehensive eye examinations, diagnosing and treating a variety of visual conditions, and prescribing appropriate corrective lenses. The role also includes providing professional advice on eye care, assisting customers in making informed eyewear choices, and ensuring a high level of clinical and customer service standards are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed eye examinations to assess vision and detect visual impairments or ocular conditions.

  • Diagnose visual defects and advise on treatment or corrective solutions.

  • Prescribe and fit glasses or contact lenses based on individual needs.

  • Offer guidance and recommendations on visual care and general eye health.

  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient records.

  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced retail health environment while upholding Specsavers’ standards of care.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Optometry.

  • Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC).

  • Demonstrated experience in conducting eye examinations and fitting lenses.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with patients effectively.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage workload in a busy setting.

  • Prior experience in an optometry role is desirable.
