Oracle Database Administrator

Description:

The role involves managing, tuning, and optimizing Oracle databases, ensuring peak system performance, reliability, and security for critical enterprise systems.

As part of DXC’s global operations serving over 6,000 clients across 70 countries, you will play a key role in database migration, automation, and performance optimization. Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain Oracle database binaries and instances.

• Develop and manage scripts to automate DBA processes and system tasks.

• Investigate and implement automation initiatives to streamline operations.

• Perform proactive database monitoring, maintenance, and performance tuning.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues to ensure system stability.

• Conduct database patching, upgrades, and ensure compliance with data security standards.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support migrations and integrations.

• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Shell, or similar).

• Understanding of database clustering, failover, and disaster recovery mechanisms.

• Experience with backup/recovery procedures and replication tools (e.g., Data Guard, Replication Manager, MongoDB ReplicaSets).
