Packaging Designer

 

Description:

The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for design, ability to work across materials and graphic design, and have a passion for sustainability. You will play a crucial role in executing packaging concepts that not only elevate the brand but also reduce environmental impact. You will also have ownership of the sourcing and supply chain needed to implement projects. You will work within the product team itself, working closely with the founders, not a separate design team. This ensures a fully integrated product development process across chemists, packaging and commercial.

Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative packaging designs that are both aesthetically pleasing and functional
  • Ensure that designs meet sustainability guidelines and objectives
  • Use CAD software to draft technical design specifications
  • Coordinate with suppliers
  • Test prototypes
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of design trends, consumer preferences, and competitor packaging
  • Create and maintain design documentation, including concept sketches, mockups, and technical files

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Packaging Engineering, or a related field
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in packaging design, preferably in the CPG or D2C ecommerce sectors
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and CAD software
  • Strong portfolio showcasing innovative packaging designs
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills
  • Solid understanding of the end-to-end supply chain, from sourcing materials to production and distribution
  • A creative and forward-thinking mindset, with the ability to think outside the box and bring fresh ideas to the table
  • Detail-oriented and committed to maintaining high-quality standards
  • Passion for sustainability and eco-friendly packaging solutions
  • Ability to travel to/from work (a UK driving license or reliable train)
